女佣代理有责任保障雇主与女佣双方权益

为了确保女佣不再受到雇主任何形式的虐待,而雇主也免于面对女佣服务素质差劣的双赢局面,马华妇女组全国主席拿汀巴杜卡周美芬针对女佣西蒂哈嘉遭雇主虐待事件,向政府建议修订法令,规定女佣代理必须提供雇主“售后服务”,每年至少造访女佣两次,以了解女佣及雇主双方可能面对的问题。

修订后的法令必须达到维护女佣福利和保障雇主权利的效果、拥有健全的机制以检查及监督,防止女佣遭虐待事件的发生、确保女佣服务素质到位,即使在6个月试用期后,保留雇主享有免费更换表现不佳女佣的权利。

Maid agencies are responsible to protect rights and interest of both employers and maids

In response to the case of Siti Hajar, Wanita MCA proposes to amend relevant laws to compel maid agencies to provide “after sale” service to employers by making regular visits to the maids at least twice a year, to understand possible issues between a maid and her employer and to protect migrant domestic workers against any forms of abuse.

The amended law should also ensure that the well being of the maids are being monitored and the quality of service rendered by both the maid and the agency. It shall also protect employers against underperforming maids or agencies, and provide that employers reserve the right to get a replacement maid without further charges even after the standard probation period of six months.
